Anne Marie Taberdo
Country of Citzenship: Australia
Biography:
Anne Marie has been a professional ice sculptor since 2012, and after her formal traditional sculptural training at the National Art School in Sydney (2007) and The City and Guilds of London Art School in the UK (2008) she sculpted and trained in various institutions including the British Museum and Madame Tussauds, London before moving into the niche ephemeral art practise of ice carving.
Anne Marie is currently based in Sydney and works internationally on large scale ice projects, from Germany to Alaska. Developing a fascination with the beauty of non-permanence in the art due to its focus and concern with the here and now, Anne Marie diversified into sand sculpting for the first time in 2018 and is continuing to explore the umbrella of ephemeral arts in ice, sand and snow. This is Anne Marie’s third appearance at the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships.
